Porsche 944 2.7 8v Supercharger Kits
The supercharger system provides instant progressive power.
Rotrex superchargers operate much cooler when compared to turbochargers and other supercharger systems, which reduces the engine’s intake air temperature as well as its risk of detonation.

The 944 has a nearly even front to rear weight distribution courtesy of the rear transaxle balancing out the engine in the front. This makes the car ideal for a performance increase.
In early 1989 Porsche upgraded the 944’s engine from the 2.5 L four cylinder engine to a 2.7 L engine with a rated power output of 164 PS (121 kW) (versus 160 PS (118 kW) for the 1988 2.5 L version) and a significant increase in torque.
The increased torque makes the 2,7l 8V ideal for boosting with a Rotrex supercharger. It is possible with the Rotrex to give the engine an almost constant torque over the whole RPM range making this balanced car easy to drive even in slippery conditions.
Compared to the 944-turbo version the Rotrex equipped engine can run reliable with higher performance because no hot gas is trapped inside the engine, as is the case with the large backpressure caused by the turbine in the 944-turbo..
Even if the engine is almost 30 years old, it is very robust and under stressed and will do a great many miles reliably. However, it is always a good idea to check the ignition and fuel system.
